Gozitan singer Morena and the Maltese Delegation left for Belgrade in Serbia today, hoping for a Eurovision Song Contest success for Malta. Yesterday, Morena met with Minister Dolores Cristina during a Farewell Function organized by the Malta Song Board.

In Belgrade Morena will have her first rehearsals on Wednesday the 14th of May between 2.30pm and 3.10pm. This will be followed by the Maltese Delegation Press Conference at 4.30pm.

The second Maltese rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday the 18th of May, between 12.00 noon and 12.30pm followed by another press conference at 1.25pm.

On Wednesday the 21st of May, Morena will take part in the first and second full dress rehearsals taking place from 3.00pm to 5.00pm and from 9.00pm to 11.00pm. On Thursday the 22nd there will be the last full dress rehearsal between 2.00pm and 4.00pm. The 2nd Semi-Finals transmission is scheduled for Thursday between 9.00pm and 11.00pm. Following this will be a press conference of the ten qualified delegations at the Press Centre.

Rehearsals for the finals will take place on Friday and Saturday the 23rd and 24th of May. On Friday, the first dress rehearsal will take place between 3.00pm and 5.30pm whilst the second dress rehearsal is scheduled between 9.00pm and 11.30pm. On Saturday afternoon between 2.00pm and 5.00pm there will be the final dress rehearsal whilst the live transmission of the Finals of Eurovision Song Contest 2008 will take place between 9.00pm and midnight. This will be followed by a press conference given by the winner of this year's edition.

As was done last year, the winner will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 Winner's Tour to be held between the 28th of May and the 3rd of June. Amongst the countries included in this year's winner's tour will be London, United Kingdom on Saturday the 31st of May, Ostend, Belgium on Sunday the 1st of June and Paris, France on Monday the 2nd of June, 2008.
