Commenting on the recent Ornis Committee decision not to make any recommendation to the government to open a spring hunting season in 2008.
BirdLife Malta said that it is cautious on this position as it contends that the decision is up to Government whether to allow another spring hunting and trapping season in view of the Commission taking Malta to the European Court and requesting an interim measure.
The organisation reiterated its position that it was time to announce an end to this practice for once and for all, rather than shaming Malta at the European Court.
