The Gozo Business Chamber has said that it is dissatisfied with the current ferry service that Gozo Channel is offering for the transport of cargo from Sa Maison in Malta to Mgarr in Gozo.
“The current timetable issued by the company states that there should be a trip between these two ports on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, excluding the eve of and Public Holidays. Unfortunately for some reason the company is not adhering strictly to this schedule and various trips are being cancelled. After a number of representations have been made by the Chamber to Gozo Channel the situation still unfortunately remains the same.
This state of affairs is causing a lot of hardship to Gozitan businessmen who use this service for the transport of goods between the two islands. Also, the heavy transport having to use the roads leading to Cirkewwa instead, causes traffic congestion and adds to the air pollution problem.
The GBC would like once again to strongly appeal to Gozo Channel and the minister concerned to come out with a definite solution to this problem for once and for all.”
