Over 500 assistant commissioners started casting their votes this morning. The assistant commissioners are allowed to vote a day earlier than the rest of the electorate, as they will be occupied all day tomorrow on the supervision of the voting process. Voting for the general pubic will be open tomorrow between 7am and 10pm.
The Electoral Commission said this morning that a total of 5,266 voting documents remained uncollected when the deadline passed at midnight last night That means that almost 98 percent of registered voters collected their voting documents and that there are 309,016 voters who can cast their vote.
The electoral campaign ended yesterday with two large mass meetings and a debate between the leaders of the main political parties. Today is a day of reflection when no electioneering or political press stories are allowed.
