The Gozo Channel Company Limited has signed a new collective agreement with the Port, Transport & Aviation section of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin representing the Seaborne Officers on board company vessels.
The seven-year agreement, with effect from the 1st of January 2005 up to the 31st of December 2011 includes financial benefits for all the officers and improvements in working conditions. Both sides anticipate that the new collective agreement will help to increase the company's efficiency in order to provide a better service for all commuters using the ferry service.
The collective agreement also provides several benefits for the employees including an improved financial package and the inclusion of the Family Friendly Measures such as Parental Leave, Adoption Leave, Leave to Foster Children, Career Break etc.
All negotiations of the agreement were conducted in collaboration with the Collective Bargaining Unit together with the UHM's representatives Mr. Simon Sciberras and Mr. Jesmond Bonello.
The Company thanked all those who contributed towards the successful conclusion of this agreement and praised all Gozo Channel's employees for their maturity and commitment which help the company to deliver the best possible service to Gozo and all its customers.
