The public is hereby notified that on the occasion of the Euro2008 Football Championship to be co-hosted by Austria on the 7th to 29th of June, the Austrian authorities will be temporarily reintroducing border controls in respect of all other Schengen Member States with effect from the 2nd of June until the 1st of July 2008.
The aim of such controls is to prevent threats to public order and safety on the occasion of the Championship.
Persons travelling to Austria from Malta or any other Schengen Member State are therefore advised that should they travel on these dates they would be subject to border checks.
