I am writing in reply to the letter published on the 27th of January, "Shine a Softer Light on Gozo".
I currently live in Sannat by the cliffs and can nearly see the whole of Gozo. I can also see that it is changing.
The lights on the Citadel should be nothing stronger than soft yellow lights. This is the trademark of the fairytale atmosphere. Energy-savers are for sale in soft lights nowadays.
This should be the same for all the spotlights in Xewkija and Sannat. I can understand that a factory or a farm should be lit up at night but, please, why all those awful white spotlights?
Gozo's nights are beautiful. The more stars one sees the better.
Keep the yellow lights as part of the tourist attraction and everybody will be grateful. Gozo is a fairytale. Let's keep it that way with a little help from everyone!
