The Works Department is to set up a Rapid Response Team to deal with urgent maintenance works, especially in tourist zones, Resources Minister George Pullicino said today.
Minister Pullicino said the works department would in future increasingly focus on maintenance, rather than major projects, such maintenance, he added, needed to be both timely and regular.
The new Rapid Response Team would deal with urgent cases, with a maximum response time of 48 hours.
Minister Pullicino made his announcement whilst inspecting ongoing works on the parvis at the new parish church of Sta Venera.
