Vodafone Group took the award for Best Report at the first ever CR Reporting Awards 2007. Moreover, Vodafone Malta Limited was placed fourth in the Best First Time Report category, which saw 31 entrants from companies who had produced their very first CR (Corporate Responsibility) report.
The CR Reporting Awards 2007 were the first ever global independent awards for corporate responsibility reporting. Nine reporting categories were created. A 'Best Report' overall winner, four categories relating to the nature of the report or company (eg Best First time Report, Best Integrated Report) and four categories relating to specific transparency aspects (eg Carbon Disclosure, Relevance & Materiality).
Launched in September 2007 by CorporateRegister.com, the London based CR resources website provider, these Awards accepted entries from 300 companies. Voting was undertaken online by CorporateRegister.com users - collectively the most experienced panel of CR report readers.
Winners were announced at a prestigious gala evening and ceremony on March 3rd in Berlin, Germany as part of Ethical Corporation's CR Reporting Summit.
The mobile phone giant was singled out by the voters for its very effective and easy to understand CR Report.
The winners, announced and presented by Richard Howitt, MEP and European Parliament Rapporteur on CSR, include BP, Novo Nordisk, Bayer, BMW, Coca-Cola Enterprises, and Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. A free report detailing voting patterns, the winners and global reporting insights and trends is available from www.corporateregister.com.
