VodafoneFollowing the introduction of its all-inclusive packages for fixed line, Internet and mobile services to residential and business customers through fixed WiMax last June, Vodafone is now launching its new broadband wireless access service in Gozo. Vodafone @home will be available throughout Gozo by the end of this month. A demonstration unit featuring the new WiMax service will be installed at the Vodafone retail outlet in the Arkadia shopping complex.

Starting at Lm5.95 (EUR13.86) a month, users will get an Internet service with a speed of 1MB and 10GB of free downloads. For higher speeds, Vodafone customers can opt for a 2MB Internet speed, and 20GB in free downloads for Lm9.87 (EUR23) a month. Customers can also choose fixed telephony add-ons, including 200 minutes worth of free local calls.

Customers can either pay online or choose to receive a monthly bill and customers subscribing to the new telephony service can retain their current fixed line number. Customers can also freely move their broadband connection to wherever they go.

Vodafone is also giving away a free cordless handset to customers choosing the Vodafone Internet and fixed telephony package.

Fixed WiMax can be used for several applications including wireless broadband connections in the home, high-speed connectivity for businesses and connecting multiple Internet users.
