The Vodafone Malta Foundation is once again supporting the Edenfest marathon fundraising event with the donation of Lm10,000 and the participation of Vodafone employees. The Edenfest, now in its fourth year will be held on 30 September 2007 at Studio Seven, Birkirkara.
“The aim of this marathon is to achieve enough funds so that the Eden Foundation can continue with its continuous work with children and adults to give them a better chance at living independent lives. This year, we felt it necessary to take our commitment one step further and offer our time together with the funds. Some of Vodafone employees will be helping out voluntarily on the day by answering calls coming in with monetary pledges. We augur the Edenfest a huge success,” said Ms Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, Chairperson of the Vodafone Malta Foundation.
“We would like to thank the Vodafone Malta Foundation for its continuous support. Our work in the community would not be possible without the assistance of such organisations from the private sector,” said Bro. Martin fsc, President of the Eden Foundation. “The Vodafone Malta Foundation has been backing us since its inception, whilst our relationship with Vodafone Malta Limited also goes back several years, and we have relied on the company’s support in a number of projects throughout our operation.”
The Eden Foundation has launched a revolutionary new appeal for funding SOS Eden in order to raise the money which will keep the Eden Foundation alive and will continue giving its personalised education and therapy service to children and adults with learning disabilities. At the moment, the Foundation, which provides education and support to 350 students with learning disabilities, is running at a daily loss of Lm500.
Persons wishing to make a donation to the Eden Foundation may send an SMS on the following numbers: 50618925 for a donation of Lm3, and 50619206 for a donation of Lm5. Alternatively, one may call on 50049495 for a donation of Lm5 or on 50049490 for a donation of Lm10.
