The Christian community of St George's basilica is praying for Dun Salv, one of its priests. Mgr Salv Borg, archpriest emeritus, is in St Luke's Hospital undergoing tests regarding what may turn out to be a very grave illness.
But hope is very much alive and the archpriest Mgr Joseph Farrugia is calling all to prayer. As from yesterday, and throughout this Sunday, a special invitation to pray for Mgr Borg is being made by the celebrating priest at the beginning of every Mass.
Archpriest Joseph Farrugia said, "Mgr Borg is a priest that we cherish and his current absence is very much felt. I consider him not only as a very dear friend but also as a very esteemed colleague in my pastoral mission as his successor at St George's. I do indeed invite you all to pray for him, to seek the powerful help of the Blessed Virgin and to petition the intercession of St George, Our Protector, for Mgr Borg's safety and his return amongst us."
