Victoria International Arts Festival 2008
The Victoria International Arts Festival 2008, which starts on the 8th of June, features artistes from the Maltese islands as well as from the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Austria, Norway, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Russia.

The venues of the concerts are St George’s Basilica and its annexes as well as St George Square and Independence Square. All performances start at 8.00pm and are free of charge. A full list of the concerts is shown below:

Tuesday 10th June: Euphoric Brass Quartet (Malta)

Wednesday 11th June: Russian Piano Music - Elizabeth Leonardi (Malta/Russia)

Friday 13th June: Festive Brass Ensemble (leader: Paul Borg) (Malta)

Saturday 14th June: Pianoforte Duo - Natascha Chircop/Marco Rivoltini (Malta/Italy)

Monday 16th June: Guitar Recital - Simon Schembri (Malta)

Tuesday 17th June: Mozart Church Sonatas for Violin and Organ - Sarah Spiter/Alex Vella Gregory (Malta)

Thursday 19th June: An Illustrated Lecture on Oliver Messiaen (1908-1992) - Maria Frendo

Friday 20th June: Vocal Recital - Gillian Zammit (Soprano) / Rosetta DeBattista (Pianoforte) (Malta)

Saturday 21st June: Pianoforte Duo - Franco Foderà/Giovanna Mirrione (Italy)

Sunday 22nd June: Pianoforte Trio - Juliet Lopez et al (Malta)
