The number of persons registered as unemployed in Gozo remained steady compared to June 2006, whereas in Malta registered unemployment decreased by 730 persons.
The total number of registered unemployed stood at 6,337. When comparing June 2007 with the same month last year, the overall number of unemployed decreased by a total of 724 persons.
Among men, the most commonly sought occupations were related to elementary duties, services and trades, whereas women tended to seek jobs that were clerical or service-oriented.
