The Malta Environment & Planning Authority is offering a one-time grant scheme to all property owners who wish to restore their wooden balcony, or replace their current balcony, with a wooden one, provided that their property is located in an Urban Conservation Area or is a scheduled building. This refund incentive will be available for all localities in Gozo and Malta.
To take advantage of this scheme you will need to fill out an application form, which will be available from all local councils and the Authority’s offices as from this coming Monday, the 15th of October. Following your submission, your application form will be assessed by an appointed committee who will verify whether you are entitled to the grant.
All approved requests will receive up to 60% of the submitted costs but not more than LM600.00 (€1397.62). Works on the timber balcony covered by this grant can only commence once the applicant receives the letter of intent from the Authority. The grant will only be given to the applicant once sufficient proof (VAT fiscal receipts and other documentation) is passed on to the Authority that works have taken place.
The Authority will receive applications until the 15th of January 2008.
