Total cruise passenger traffic during the month of January 2008 amounted to 2,193 persons, an increase of 795 passengers over the corresponding month in the previous year.
2110 of these passengers came from EU countries, primarily Germany, with just 83 passengers coming from Non-EU countries.
During this same period there were no embarkations from or landings in Malta.
Similarly to last year, there was only one cruise liner which called into the Maltese ports.
In January 2006, total cruise passenger traffic amounted to 5,551 passengers aboard four cruise liners which called at the Maltese ports.
