A total of three divers have been transferred from Gozo to Malta for treatment at the hyperbaric unit of St Luke’s Hospital since November 2006, Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono, said in reply to a parliamentary question.
The Minister was replying to a series of questions put by Labour MP Anton Refalo, who was enquiring about progress on the hyperbaric unit at the Gozo General Hospital.
The new Gozo unit has not yet been used since it was inaugurated in December of last year. An inspection, which was also carried out in December 2006, has since been reported to have found problems with the hyperbaric units air intake.
