As reported on Tuesday, a total of four schools in Gozo have, in recent months, benefited from projects involving the installation of artificial turf pitches in school grounds. The schools are the Agius de Soldanis Girls' Secondary school and the Victoria, Ghajnsielem and Xewkija primary schools.
The Anton Cassar primary school in Ghajnsielem has also undergone further embellishment and refurbishment works, including new insulated aluminium apertures and a new playground area for the kindergarten. The school, in collaboration with Ministry of Gozo employees, has also given a new fresh and colourful look to the main halls thanks to a new paint job.
The aim of these projects is to increase and upgrade the quality of education and sporting facilities, and to provide students with added opportunities which encourage participation in sporting events held during the scholastic year.
