Preparations are well under way for the tenth edition of Il-Kuncert tal-Milied. This concert is an eagerly awaited high-brow event and has established itself in the national cultural calendar for the festive season. This year’s concert will be held at Teatru Astra on Friday 21st December 2007. The Concert will be held in aid of ‘Arka Foundation’ and features the participation of the National Orchestra, a constant partner in this event ever since its inception in 1998.
Il-Kuncert tal-Milied will also undergo significant innovations this year and the programme will include music by Mozart, Johann Strauss Jr and Sr apart from traditional and novel carols with the participation of various soloists and the Chorus Urbanus. The concert will be conducted by musical director John Galea, an eminent personality in local musical circles. This concert is supported by Orkestra Nazzjonali, Teatru Astra, the Good Causes Fund, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry for Gozo and the Victoria Local Council. Entrance is free but donations to the Arka Foundation will be most welcome.
