The Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) has registered an industrial dispute with MCAST as the negotiations for a revision of the collective agreement have reached an impasse.
The union said that negotiations started ten months ago, in June 2007, and despite the efforts made by both the MUT and MCAST, no agreement had been reached.
Therefore, the MUT said it was registering an industrial dispute and would be holding a meeting with the academic staff in the coming days. The union added that it did not exclude ordering industrial actions.
