Official celebrations for the feast of St Anthony in Ghajnsielem started a few days ago with internal activities. This year these activities are being led by Archpriest Can. Frankie Bajada and Parish Vicar Fr Joe Cardona.
The daily events start at 5.30am with the recitation of prayers. A mass is held at 6.00am followed by another mass at 6.30am. The activities end with a concelebrated mass with the participation of the Franciscan choir led by Tony Galea. These activities focus on the religious and spiritual festivities before external celebrations start.
The highlight of the 9-day long activities will take place on Saturday the 31st of May and Sunday the 1st of June when the St Joseph Band Club will accompany the statue of St Anthony around the main street of Ghajnsielem in the area known as ‘Tal-Gudja’.
The full programme of activities is available for download on this link.
