The Court of Magistrates has placed seven Gozitan boys on probation for between 18 months and three years after they pleaded guilty to their involvement in a number of thefts that took place in Gozo in June, September and October.
The seven boys admitted to their involvement in a number of thefts of more than Lm7,400 to the detriment of three Gozitan men. The thefts took place on the night of the 13th and 14th of June, on the 14th of October and some time between the 21st of September and the 9th of October. All the thefts were committed in Victoria.
Handing down her judgement, Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera noted that the stolen items can be returned, all had filed an early guilty plea, cooperated with the police and had a clean police record.
The names of the seven boys are not being published since some of them are minors. Senior Police Inspector Mario Bonello and Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted.
