The Ornis Committee has refrained from making a decision on whether to recommend the opening of the spring hunting season in view of the pending case by the European Commission against Malta before the European Court of Justice.
No vote was taken but it was decided that the committee would not be ruling on whether the season should be opened before the European Court of Justice makes a pronouncement.
BirdLife Malta had previously urged the Committee to refrain from making any such decision on spring hunting.
