It has been announced that Fr George Attard, of the Franciscan Conventuals, has been appointed as new guardian at the convent in Victoria. Fr Attard, who was born in Victoria, has been serving for the last six years at the new Franciscan-led parish of Bugibba, in the archdiocese of Malta.
He succeeds Fr Michael Attard OFM Conv, who has has served as guardian for the last six years. Despite his relatively young age, Fr Attard has held significant roles in the Franciscan Order including lecturing at the Gozo Major Seminary and a period in the Maltese province's Franciscan missionary foundation in India.
