Applications for a number courses which are funded by the European Union and the Maltese government, are being received in Gozo.
The courses will provide hands-on training in a number of tourism related fields and also crafts, in a bid to improve Gozitans’ entrepreneurship, employability and educational opportunities.
They are being provided by the Gozo Ministry and the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Arts and Crafts. The courses will include food preparation and production, food and beverage service, housekeeping, bartending, customer care, fashion design, toy making, glass, leather and metal work, weaving and wax craftwork, amongst others.
The Employment and Training Corporation for Gozo is also taking applications for other courses and schemes being offered to unemployed Gozo residents who wish to set up a business in Gozo and for schemes targeted towards small and medium-sized enterprises operating from Gozo employing eight employees or less.
These two schemes are part of the Gozo Ministry’s project which is aimed at boosting employment and business opportunities in Gozo.
All courses are being offered free of charge. Applications for the courses and schemes need to be made to the Employment and Training Corporation by Thursday. Applicants for these courses should be at least 16 years old.
