Mgr Joseph Attard and Mgr Paul Cardona , Archpriests-elect respectively of the Victoria Cathedral and St George's Basilica, met Pope Benedict XVI at the end of his weekly Wednesday audience in St Peter's Square. The two Archpriests expressed their joy for the blessing that they received from the Holy Father on a day that happened to be exactly one month after they had both been nominated to the two Victoria parishes.
Commenting on their experience in Rome, the two Archpriests were struck by the way that Pope Benedict XVI took hold of their hands and held on to them as they introduced themselves. They added that he listened carefully to them, heard about their pastoral ministry in Rome and blessed them as they embarked upon their new ministries in Victoria.
