Speaking during a political rally in Marsalforn, the Prime Minister said that the government has introduced many incentives to stimulate Gozo’s economy in order to strengthen economic activity and increase employment opportunities.
The Nationalist Party believes in Gozo’s potential and this is why the government is going to continue investing and implementing measures to help Gozo, the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister said that the government was ensuring that a considerable amount was being invested to improve Gozo’s environment as well as to improve educational opportunities to enable Gozitan students to further their studies.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the government’s endeavours to expand tourism in Gozo through the new schemes with Gozo Channel Ferries. He added that the government would be increasing such funds so that additional events could be organised in Gozo which would attract more Maltese holidaymakers.
The Prime Minister concluded by saying that in the past three years, his government had taken many decisions to improve the quality of life of Gozitans with a number of measures, including a 25 per cent reduction in trading licences for tourist businesses, berthing facilities for cruise liners, a decompression chamber and various other capital projects.
