Nadur is getting Gozo's first artificial turf pitch which is being laid by Allsports International after an agreement between the local council, the Nadur Youngsters Football Club and the Gozo Ministry.
The ministry funded the foundation works, while the club and the local council provided for the turf.
The council will also be installing a new floodlight system. Other recreational facilities have been built next to the ground.
The work is expected to be completed in the coming days and the facilities will be open to the youngsters from the surrounding areas immediately.
