A Nadur man has been placed on probation for two years after he plead guilty to stealing Lm60 in cash from a restaurant in Mgarr, Gozo.
Mario Said, 48, of Nadur, plead guilty to stealing the cash from a Cantonese restaurant on Sunday. The court, presided over by Magistrate Edwina Grima, heard the man admit to having a gambling problem. The court also heard that he had spent Lm2,000 on gambling in one week.
Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted and Dr Joseph Grech appeared for the accused.
