Nadur man placed on probation after pleading guilty to theft

Gozo CourtsA Nadur man has been placed on probation for two years after he plead guilty to stealing Lm60 in cash from a restaurant in Mgarr, Gozo.

Mario Said, 48, of Nadur, plead guilty to stealing the cash from a Cantonese restaurant on Sunday. The court, presided over by Magistrate Edwina Grima, heard the man admit to having a gambling problem. The court also heard that he had spent Lm2,000 on gambling in one week.

Police Inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted and Dr Joseph Grech appeared for the accused.
