A 49-year-old Munxar man has appeared at the Gozo Courts charged with defiling an 11-year-old girl in Victoria earlier this month. Mario Pisani of Munxar plead not guilty to defiling the minor, whose name cannot be published by order of the court.
Mr Pisani was also accused of holding the girl against her will and offending public morals. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera turned down a request for bail and remanded him in custody.
Police Inspector Louise Calleja prosecuted the case and the accused was represented by lawyers Arthur Azzopardi and Manwel Mallia.
