The medical condition of Mgr Salv Borg, Archpriest Emeritus, who is seriously ill in St Luke's Hospital, turned momentarily critical after exploratory surgery on Friday.
The Bishop of Gozo, Mgr Mario Grech, together with outgoing Archpriest Mgr Joseph Farrugia, and the new Archpriest, Mgr Paul Cardona, all rushed to his bedside. Thankfully, by the time they arrived Mgr Borg's condition had stabilised and he was even able to leave his bed for a short time.
Mgr Borg, a cherished priest of St George's Basilica, has been in hospital for the last three weeks undergoing tests and explorative surgery for an initially unidentified illness.
Mgr Borg's condition today is stable and his immediate family are constantly beside him, never leaving him alone. The care and love that he is receiving is perhaps the supreme palliative that he is receiving together with the prayers of all that know and cherish him.
