The Malta Environment & Planning Authority (MEPA) determined 543 applications in June and received 533 new applications. The net pending caseload at the end of the month was 4,894.
During June the Authority processed 127 notifications of development, which, according to the Development Notification Order 2001, do not require a formal application.
During the same month, 88 Stop and Enforcement notices were issued, 63 in Malta and 25 in Gozo.
In June 2008, 38 enforcement cases were closed, 23 in Malta and 15 in Gozo. 27 enforcement cases were sanctioned by the issue of a sanctionable permit. Another 10 cases were resolved since owners decided to remove illegal development and comply with the enforcement notice.
During the same month 1 case was withdrawn by MEPA.
