The Malta Environment & Planning Authority (MEPA) decided 545 applications in November and received 599 new applications. The net pending caseload at the end of the month was 4,675. During November the Authority processed 106 notifications of development, which, according to the Development Notification Order 2001, do not require a formal application.
In November 2007, 58 Stop and Enforcement notices were issued, 51 in Malta and 7 in Gozo. During the same month, 19 enforcement cases were closed, 13 in Malta and 6 in Gozo. 14 enforcement cases were sanctioned by the issue of a sanctionable permit. Another 5 cases were resolved since owners decided to remove illegal development and comply with enforcement notice.
