Wirt Ghawdex has announced that an agreement has been reached with the Ministry for Gozo for the restoration and eventual administration of the Late Medieval Santa Cecilia Chapel, situated on the outskirts of Ghajnsielem.
The restoration is to be carried out by a project team composed of representatives of the Ministry and the society.
It is planned that once fully-restored, the building will be used for exhibitions, lectures and other cultural activities.
Wirt Ghawdex has been calling for a number of years for the enforcement of the expropriation order on the chapel which was made made over eleven years ago.
