The public is reminded that the latest date when Maltese lira banknotes and coins can be exchanged for euro or deposited at bank branches is Saturday, 29 March 2008.
Maltese lira banknotes can also be deposited through ATMs and deposit machines or night safe facilities until Monday, 31 March 2008.
The Central Bank of Malta will continue to exchange without charge Maltese lira coins until 1 February 2010 and Maltese lira banknotes until 31 January 2018.
No Maltese lira banknote or coin will have any value after these dates.
