Maltacom extends free digital TV offer

Maltacom.jpgMaltacom Group has announced that it is extending the special offer of a free TV set-top box to its voice telephony customers, if they opt to take its digital television service. The offer has now been extended until the 30th of June.

As a result of this offer, the TV subscriber base of Maltacom has shot up to 15,000 in a matter of a few months. Maltacom entered the digital TV business recently through its acquisition of Multiplus in February.

Speaking about the success of the offer, Maltacom Group Chief Commercial Officer Keith Fearne stated: “Since taking over Multiplus a lot of work has been going on to ensure that we deliver to our customers what they really require, at prices they can afford. We have been doing a lot of market research and are focusing our strategy towards our customers’ needs.”

Mr Fearne added: “We are also doing a lot of investment on the customer care front. We will also be signing a number of technology contracts in the coming weeks to ensure that we can continue catering for our increasing customer base, and extend coverage to the whole of the island with the latest technology equipment.”

Referring to the offer, Mr. Fearne said: “The free set-top box offer has been doing extremely well, and everyday we are seeing a large number of customers realising that they can get a much better television service then they have today at a better price. We have decided to extend this offer, and will be coming out with other offers in the coming weeks. It is a great achievement for us to be able to say that we have reached close to 15,000 subscribers in such a short period of time.”

The promotion offers Maltacom post-paid fixed line customers the possibility to get their Multiplus digital TV set-top box for free and, for just Lm1 a month, they can enjoy the Multiplus Free+ package which includes 15 channels. The monthly Lm1 charge will be included in the Maltacom bill. Maltacom customers can opt to upgrade to the Multiplus Silver+ channel for an additional Lm5 a month or the Multiplus Gold+ package for an additional Lm9 a month.
