Tonio Fenech, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, last Wednesday presented a contribution to the Astra Theatre and Oratory Youths in Victoria.
During his visit to the Astra theatre Mr Fenech said the Lm9,000 contribution made from the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund was intended to help in the refurbishment of the theatre following the fire which damaged most of it.
The fund helps various philanthropic organisations by financing all or part of their proposed projects. It generates its income through a percentage contributed from the amount of tax payable from lotteries and games and unclaimed prizes.
Mr Fenech then visited the premises of Oratory Youths and presented a contribution of Lm7,300 which will go towards the synthetic pitches at the organisation’s premises.
