The Malta Labour Party is expected to record a convincing win in this year’s local council elections, with voter turnout in Nationalist strongholds falling dramatically.
The Nationalist Party registered an increase in votes in Gharb, where 3 candidates were elected on its behalf, and 2 on MLP’s.
In Victoria, PN had 4 candidates elected and MLP had 2, while in Sannat, MLP had 3 candidates elected, and there was one candidate elected for both PN and AD.
A total of 65.6 per cent turned out to vote for the local council elections in 23 localities, a drop of 22 per cent compared with three years ago.
