The Labour Party has taken the largest share of votes in the local council elections, with 53.2% of the vote. The Nationalist Party took 43.89% of the votes, Alternattiva Demokratika 2.15% and independent candidates accounted for less than 1% of the votes.
The results for Gozo were as follows:
At Kercem the Nationalist Party won 3 seats and the Labour Party 2 seats.
At Munxar the Nationalist Party won 3 seats and the Labour Party 2 seats. Alternattiva Demokratika was just 2 votes short of winning a seat from the Nationalist party.
At Qala the Nationalist Party won 3 seats and the Labour Party 2 seats.
At San Lawrenz the Nationalist Party won 3 seats and the Labour Party 2 seats.
At Xaghra the Nationalist Party won 2 seats and the Labour Party 3 seats, giving a new majority to the Labour Party.
At Zebbug the Nationalist Party won 3 seatsand the Labour Party 2 seats.
