Heritage Malta is organizing a public lecture on the exhibits that are currently on display in an exhibition entitled Views of Gozo (1800 - 1940) which is currently taking place at the Banca Giuratale in Victoria Gozo.
The lecture will be delivered by Ms Nicoline Sagona who will be placing the works in their art historical context and will give a synoptic overview of landscape painting in Malta between the late 18th and early 20th centuries. The lecture will be held on Friday 30th May at 7.00pm, in the Upper Hall of the Banca Giuratale. Attendees will be invited to view the actual works of art after the lecture.
The exhibition which is being organised jointly by Heritage Malta and the Ministry for Gozo consists of paintings depicting views of Gozo from the National Collection will remain open at the Banca Giuratale until 31st May 2008.
Nicoline Sagona, Curator of the Ggantija Temples with Heritage Malta, is a History of Art graduate from the University of Malta. She is currently reading for an MA in Cultural Heritage Management. She has lectured in History of Art on several instances in the past.
Admission to the lecture is free and the general public is invited to attend. The lecture will be delivered in English.
