A twinning agreement has recently been signed between Gozo's Kercem Council and Malta's Floriana Council.
The twinning ceremony was held outside the Floriana Council offices on Emmanuel S. Tonna Square, in the presence of councillors and residents from both of the localities.
Prior to the ceremony a Mass was celebrated at St Publius parish church by Floriana Archpriest, Fr Richard Borg.
Following the Mass, the congregation proceeded to the council offices for the signing ceremony. A reception was then held at the Floriana Council offices.
Among those present was Lolly Borg, a footballer who used to play for Floriana and is now a guest player with Kercem, and the Labour MP Josè Herrera.
