January and February were the warmest for 52 years, with a combined average temperature of 14.1°C.
The warmest January and February ever recorded was in 1955, when an overall average temperature of 14.5°C was recorded.
February, with an overall average temperature of 13.8°C, was 1.4°C warmer than the norm. Daytime temperatures, which averaged 16.8°C, were 1.5°C warmer than the norm. The average temperature at night was 10.8°C, 1.1°C warmer than the norm.
February 15th was the warmest day with a high of 18.8°C and the coldest night was February 5th with a low of 4.9°C.
The sunniest day was February 17th with 10 hours and six minutes of bright sunshine recorded.
Rainfall was much lower than usual with only 17.8 mm recorded.
The average wind speed of 9.2 knots was also lower than the norm.
