The Istrina Piggy Bank Campaign has been officially launched in Gozo by Mrs Fenech Adami, during a visit she paid to the Dun Salv Vella Primary School in Nadur. Mrs Fenech Adami was given a warm and enthusiastic welcome by the children.
The Bank of Valletta is making available 7,000 piggy banks, to be distributed in all classes at all schools in Malta and Gozo, as well as to various retail outlets. These piggy banks will be used to collect donations which will go towards this year's Istrina campaign.
Work is already well underway to ensure that Istrina will be a success once again, the Malta Community Chest Fund and various other local charities will benefit from this national fundraising event.
In the meantime, an appeal for volunteers is being made. All those wishing to join L-Istrina as volunteers are asked to please call on 22913555 or to email
info@l-istrina.org.
