Issues raised by students deserve immediate attention - AD

MCAST.jpgRecently students from MCAST approached AD, showing their concern about the lack of resources at their college. AD Deputy Chairperson and spokesperson on education Mario Mallia said: "The most pressing problem is the high staff turnover. Some students in IT and engineering have been without teachers since the beginning of the scholastic year."

"Are their any developments on this? What are the school authority's plans to make sure that the students get through the syllabus? Are their any plans to solve the turnover in staff? How does MCAST plan to attract new academic staff to it?"

The students also spoke about very old equipment in the engineering workshops and the dearth of computers both for the use of students and staff.

Mario Mallia asked: "How can we expect young people to be active in sports when on the MCAST Corradino Campus the football pitch cannot be used because of structural faults and a tennis court is being used as a car park?"

Students also commented on the fact that the school gymnasium is leased out to third parties in the evening but is closed during school hours.

Mario Mallia appealed to the authorities to give clear answers to these students concerns and augured for quick and lasting solutions to the issues raised by the students.
