The Maltese Government has recently announced the 2008 award of scholarships for those interested in pursuing full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies in local private tuition centres or in universities abroad.
The key objectives of the Malta Government Scholarships Scheme include the encouragement of more student participation at an undergraduate or postgraduate level whilst promoting an increase in research both locally and internationally.
Interested Gozitan applicants who may wish to learn more about these schemes will have the opportunity to do so by attending an information session being held at the Exhibition Hall, Ministry for Gozo on this coming Friday, the 6th of June, at 6.00 p.m.
Officials from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport will be delivering relative information and will answer any queries from those in attendance.
Further details on the schemes and relative application forms may be obtained from the Customer Care Office, Human Resources Development Department, Directorate for Educational Services, Great Siege Road, Floriana or are available on-line at www.education.gov.mt/mgss_ug.htm for undergraduates, or www.education.gov.mt/mgss_pg.htm for postgraduates.
The Ministry for Gozo said it urges and supports Gozitan participation in this scheme since it firmly believes that the socio-economic development of the island of Gozo considerably relies on the educational and academic development of its human resources.
