A number of limestone blocks, dumped in a field in Mgarr ix-Xini have been removed by the owner following immediate action by Malta Environment and Planning Authority officers in Gozo.
The action was taken following a complaint of illegal dumping on the site which was close to the old pumping station, Mepa said.
Enforcement officers were sent there and, as the directions were initially unclear, some time was spent searching for the location.
When the site was identified, the owner was found and was requested to remove the stones from the field within a week. This was complied with and the field is now clear.
