The Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Communications recently organised a Breakfast meeting for employers seeking ICT human resources to present to them the opportunity to recruit ICT students under the Ministry?s ICT work experience programme.
The ICT Student Placement Programme is a cost-effective opportunity for employers to source additional resources and ICT-related skills for defined periods of time during the summer recess. ICT students can contribute to organisations with knowledge of new technologies, new ideas and fresh enthusiasm. The Ministry?s Student Placement initiative promotes and supports quality work experience for the benefit of ICT students, companies and the economy.
The event attracted around 70 Maltese firms allowing for the sharing of information between several employers who participated in the programme in preceding years and newcomers to the initiative. This morning?s event also permitted the Ministry to explain to employers the potential and skills of a number of students who are currently following an ICT-related course.
Employers were also informed that registrations are now open to all enterprises interested and would like to offer temporary ICT-related job placements for ICT students during July-September 2008. These can be accessed online through the Smart Island website www.thesmartisland.gov....
Registrations will be accepted until Friday the 23rd of May 2008. Further information can be sought from Fiona Pace on 21255495 or fiona.pace@gov.mt. ...
