The Gozo Court has ruled that the four men charged with serious sexual offences against a 14-year-old girl in Nadur are to be kept under house arrest for a month, against payment of a €10,000 bank guarantee and a €400 fine. The four men had previously been held in police custody.
Josef Said, 27, and Peter Paul Said, 34, are accused of violently raping the minor in 2007 and 2008, in Nadur and other places, and of breaking the conditions of a previous court sentence.
Peter Paul Debono, 38, and Mark Lorry Said, 24, are also accused of corrupting the minor.
Informed sources say that a number of other men are thought to be involved and that more arrests could follow.
