Following national success at all local cinemas, Heroes in the Sky (HITS), a local film/documentary written, produced and directed by Engelbert Grech, is now available on DVD for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their homes. Vodafone Malta Limited, who has supported this production, is now sponsoring this DVD which is on sale from all Vodafone outlets.
Until end of June, Vodafone customers have the opportunity to purchase this DVD at the discounted price of €10 which is available from all Vodafone Retail Outlets. Heroes in the Sky tells the story of the hardships and triumphs of an outstanding group of pilots who saved the Mediterranean during World War II. It shows how the Maltese people never gave up, despite living in the most bombed place.
"Finally, we've managed to release this DVD for all those who either missed the show at the cinema or simply want to relive the experience again! We have also translated the film in different languages, including Maltese, French and Spanish," said Engelbert Grech.
Late last year, Heroes in the Sky was chosen by the European Commission to represent Malta in the International Film Festivals in Brussels and Luxembourg. This year, it is Malta's entry for the European Union's film festival. "This film is being shown around the world in various film festivals, including Singapore, Rome, Paris, Madrid, Brussels and Florence. Audiences from various continents can now appreciate part of Malta's rich history and I'm happy that Malta is getting indirect exposure throughout Asia and Europe," said Mr Grech.
The original soundtrack for this production is provided by top local band, Winter Moods.
