The Health Promotion Unit at the Gozo General Hospital is for the second consecutive year offering courses linked to promoting a healthier living lifestyle to the members of the Gozitan public.
These courses, which include a weight reduction course, a smoking cessation course as well as a healthy cooking course, were well-attended last year, with 855 individuals participating. This year, the Health Promotion Unit will also be offering a varied Fitness Program which is to include classes in Hi-Lo Aerobics, Dance Aerobics, Tonification, Power Yoga and Pilates.
Besides this, the Health Promotion Unit also gives informative talks on issues such as Sexual Health, AIDS/HIV, Eating Disorders, Tobacco, Women Health and Nutrition at Local Councils, Elderly Day Care Centres as well as to primary and secondary school students and staff. Such discussions are also held on local radio stations to further educate public members in these subjects.
The Health Promotion Unit falls under the Customer Services Department, Ministry for Gozo and is open from Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 3.00pm. Those interested are kindly asked to call on 22106350 for more information.

Better than Health courses is that the government ACTS healthy. What about the black smoke that comes out of the hospital chimney onto the neighbourhood? Do we need to learn about it, if it continues no matter how many clasess we take.
